Features
The Chamberlain CHU62 is a compact, two-button universal garage-door remote designed to replace or consolidate remotes for up to two doors or gates. It’s compatible with most major garage-door openers manufactured since the early 1990s, making it a handy one-fob solution if you have two separate openers. Each button is independently programmable, allowing you to assign one button per opener (or program both to the same opener if you prefer). The unit is built around rolling-code security, reducing the risk of code-grabbing and unauthorized access. It’s pocket-sized and lightweight, featuring a visor clip and a CR2032 button cell, so it’s ready to use out of the box.
Additionally, it fits easily on a keyring or in a glove box. Chamberlain rates a generous operating range under ideal conditions (so you can usually open the door from a good distance away), and the simple push-button interface makes daily use quick and intuitive. For owners, common advantages are easy programming, reliable battery swaps, and broad compatibility with many brands—making the CHU62 a practical, low-fuss replacement remote for most home garage setups.
Compatibility
The Chamberlain Universal 2-Button Remote CHU62 is built to provide outstanding compatibility with a wide range of garage door openers, making it a versatile solution for most households. It is designed to work with the vast majority of garage door openers manufactured after 1993 that feature photo-eye safety sensors and rolling code technology, which have become standard for enhanced security and safety. Each of the two buttons can be programmed independently, allowing you to control two different garage doors, a combination of a garage door and a gate, or even two openers from different brands. This flexibility is especially helpful for families who may have mixed systems or need one remote that works at both home and a secondary property. The CHU62 supports the most common frequencies and learn-button systems used by major brands, meaning that if your opener has a learn or program button, it’s highly likely to sync smoothly. Its broad compatibility eliminates the hassle of juggling multiple remotes, making it a reliable replacement option for lost, broken, or outdated remotes across various opener types.
Setup & Support
Chamberlain Universal 2-Button Remote CHU62: Everything You Need to Know
When it comes to convenience and security for your garage, the Chamberlain Universal 2-Button Remote CHU62 is a reliable solution that puts control right at your fingertips. Compact, versatile, and easy to program, this universal remote makes managing your garage door or gate simple and stress-free. Here’s a closer look at its key features, compatibility, and practical benefits.
Key Features
The CHU62 is designed for everyday use with durability and ease in mind. It can control up to two different garage doors or gates, thanks to its two independently programmable buttons. Whether you need to manage both your home’s main garage and a secondary gate, or two different doors on the same property, this remote has you covered. Its compact design features both a visor clip for your car and a keyring loop option, allowing you to keep it accessible wherever you go. The remote utilizes secure rolling-code technology, which helps prevent unauthorized access, and its blue LED indicator light makes programming and operation straightforward.
Wide Compatibility
One of the biggest advantages of the CHU62 is its broad compatibility. It works with most major garage door opener brands manufactured after 1993 that use photoelectric safety sensors. Supported brands include Chamberlain, LiftMaster, Craftsman, Genie, Overhead Door, Linear, Stanley, Wayne Dalton, Raynor, Performax, Xtreme Garage, Sommer, Ryobi, Guardian, and several others. As long as your opener has a “Learn” or “Program” button, there is a high chance that the CHU62 will sync with it seamlessly.
Easy Programming
Programming the Chamberlain Universal Remote CHU62 is designed to be quick and user-friendly. Depending on your opener brand and the color of its Learn button, you can program the remote in just a few steps. Options include using the Learn button on the opener, the control panel, or, for myQ-compatible devices, the myQ app. Once paired, each button on the remote operates independently, providing flexible control over multiple openers.
Battery Replacement
The remote operates on a CR2032 coin cell battery, which is easily replaceable when needed. A dim or non-flashing LED light is the sign that it’s time for a new battery. Chamberlain makes the replacement process straightforward: open the housing with a small screwdriver, replace the battery, and you’re back in action. Be sure to keep old batteries out of children’s reach and dispose of them properly.
Safety Considerations
Safety is a top priority with the CHU62. Chamberlain reminds users to always keep remotes out of children’s reach, never activate the garage door without clear visibility, and ensure that no one is crossing the path of the moving door. These built-in precautions, combined with the remote’s secure signal technology, make it a trustworthy addition to your garage system.
Replacement Parts and Warranty
The CHU62 includes a visor clip, and replacement parts like the visor clip can be ordered if needed. The remote also comes with a one-year limited warranty, giving you peace of mind in your purchase.
Final Thoughts
The Chamberlain Universal 2-Button Remote CHU62 is a simple yet powerful upgrade for any garage setup. With the ability to control two openers, wide brand compatibility, easy programming options, and a portable design, it’s a dependable tool for everyday convenience. Whether you’re replacing a lost remote or consolidating multiple remotes into one, the CHU62 is built to make life easier and your garage more secure.
